James asks…

What Diet Pills would be good to take to supplement ADHD meds?

I already take stimulants for my ADHD which already reduce my appetite and boost my metabolism/energy. This has not helped me lose weight, it has only taught me to eat when I am not hungry. I am looking for a safe diet pill that will specifically do something to enhance weight loss other than what my ADHD meds already do…. like fat blocking, or losing belly fat, etc.

I have tried to research this myself, but the sheer amount of information is overwhelming. TIA!
I just wanted to assure you that I am an adult, and I am legitimately overweight. I would like to lose about 25-30 pounds (though some people say I should lose 50). I have had some luck in the past with slim-fast, and exercise, but it seems like I always lose the weight from my chest and not where I need to lose it.

I know diet and exercise would be the ideal solution, but that is not the question I am asking.

There are bad and good pills to help you loose weight. Don’t take anything that says it will reduce appetite. That can cause all kinds of side effects. Also, alot of those pills contain high amounts of speed which is never good.

For the good pills, take natural supplements. You will also need to exercising for them to work more effectively. If exercising, I recommend Slimmetry dietary supplement. All it contains is Green Tea Extract, Yerba Mate Extract, Birch Extract.
Some others:
CLA 500 to help reduce fat and promote lean muscle retention

Glucose Health includes chromium picolinate, an essential trace mineral that plays an important role in activating a key enzyme involved in metabolism.

Another good supplement is Carb Blocker 2 which helps block absorption of both sugars and starches.

Go to http://Arcameda.com and search the site for these items or click on Weight Management then supplements. Exercising and drinking plenty of water.

Sandra asks…

Do I capitalize Vitamin D or vitamin d, ginseng or Ginseng..etc?

My research on this topic has convinced me that since the focus of treating ADHD is the management of its symptoms, alternative treatments such as changes in diet and nutritional supplements can provide an option for parents who are uncomfortable with prescription medication. Certain dietary changes have been said to alleviate ADHD symptoms. These changes can include the consumption of foods rich in magnesium, iron, vitamin d, vitamin b6, zinc, and omega-3 and 6 fatty acids. Nutritional supplements such as St. Johns Wort, ginseng, gingko biloba, and L-carnitine have also been said to help manage the symptoms of ADHD (Herbal Therapeutics Library).

barry jennings answers:

Vitamin D, vitamin B6 – capital
ginseng – small
St.John’s wort – capital and small.
