Your Questions About Adhd Cures For Children

Chris asks…
Can ADHD be cured by constant Mute?
I cannot find anything on this!
I know there are different situations where it is deemed unacceptable for someone who is capable of speaking to refuse to speak…also known as selective mute!
I wanted to know medically what could happen to someone maybe at the age of 19 who refuses to speak for years? The outcome? A correlation study would show it would be clearly possible for them to still yet find work and lead a normal life just as a mute themselves could. Though if we were to examine the effects of not speaking for years as a psychological and physiological outcome, would that person most likely lose their voice or ther capability of speaking and or have to relearn how to speak?
I was thinking if children who truly have a life-long form of ADHD were to exercize this lifestyle and it’s decrepancies it would lead to a balance somewhat! It is never heard of a child being both ADHD and a mute the same! As we know in psychology through condtioned responses and experience we adjus and learn bestt! So as it being an unacceptablility I thought it could also be used as a cure!
For as I am myself ADHD
as I said it is not heard of that someone is both ADHD and a mute!
Please feel free to comment!
I’m really looking into getting my former Psy. professors thoughts on this ideal!
But it would also mean the world to hear from others what their thoughts to this is!

I have ADHD and there’s no way in hell you could even PAY me enough to not speak for years. That study would fail the ethical part of the IRB review for a psychological study.

Joseph asks…
Mental health, can I have your opinion?
I want to know what you think of giving children and teens medication for mental and behavioral diseases. Do you think that children are being put on medicine for good cause, or just to appease parents and other adults. It seems some think that giving things for problems such as ADD or ADHD can be seen as parents or teachers looking for a babysitter for an overactive child. Or that a teen being put on antidepressants is being sentenced to death since this can cause higher suicide tendencies. Or that the drugs will forever alter the child and they will never live a ‘normal’ life. Others think these drugs are miracle cures for children who would have a very difficult time growing up without help because of their disease. Or that by giving antidepressants we can actually help children who are considering suicide. I’ll tell you my opinion and experience on the subject later, but I want to hear your unbiased opinion first. Thank you!!

barry jennings answers:
Sometimes it is necessary. There are children who cannot function unless they are on medication. Every situation has to be evaluated on its own.
